Correspondence, research notes, maps, and slides, 1979-1984, re historic buildings, churches, and other resources in southeastern area of Richland County, S.C. (i.e. Hopkins, Gadsden, Eastover, Congaree, etc.), compiled by Historic Preservation Planner, N.C. Fox, while an employee of the Central Midlands Regional Planning Council. "Historical Summary of Richland County," (25 page essay, with bibliographical references, pp. 26-35); photocopied portions of publications and National Register nominations, and images of houses; information on history of Goodwill Plantation, Magnolia; the Arant house in Gadsden, S.C.; Lower Richland High School; Hopkins Graded School; the Horrell Hill School and its destruction in a tornado, 30 Apr. 1924; Richland Presbyterian Church; St. John's Episcopal Church (Congaree, S.C.); and other sites. Papers relating to Goodwill Plantation include copies of documents from the "Goodwill Stock Company to Goodwill Plantation," with transcriptions of transactions, ca. 1850s to 1910, with annotations and comments; historical essays include, "A Survey of Magnolia or Wavering Place," by Julie Burr; another essay, by Augustus C. Graydon, ca. 1982., reflects planning for the Columbia, S.C. bicentennial of 1986. Thirty-eight slides depict homes, out-buildings, farms, landscapes and views of the area.
